Penny Wars
The MCS Penny Wars invites Maryville students and families to raise funds for The Children’s Fund from December 3-6 by collecting coins for points and “sabotaging” others. There will be 1 classroom winner, 1 overall school winner, and of course bragging rights!
The War Kicks Off on Giving Tuesday!
How It Works
Welcome to the Maryville City Schools Penny Wars! This exciting, friendly competition is a unique way for students, staff, and families to come together to support The Children’s Fund, providing crucial resources to students and families in need. Here’s how you can join in:
Who Can Participate?
All Maryville City Schools students, families and staff are invited to participate! We encourage friendly competition among classes, grades, or even schools.
What is Penny Wars?
It’s a fundraising battle where teams compete to collect the most points, using pennies and bills to add to their scores, while silver coins subtract points from opponents—perfect for a little friendly sabotage!
When?
Penny Wars will run from December 3 to December 6, 2024. The competition kicks off on Giving Tuesday (December 3rd), with MCSF Board Members and PTO Members collecting change in morning and afternoon car rider lines.
Where to Participate?
On Wednesday the Battle MOVES to the classrooms! Each classroom will have a designated collection jar, and there will be a collection jar in the main office as well.
How to Get Involved:
Bring pennies, bills, and silver coins to the collection jars in your classroom or main office. Track your team’s progress with updates to see who’s leading the charge!
Why Participate?
Every penny raised goes directly to The Children’s Fund, supporting over 350 students and their families this year. It’s a fun and impactful way to make a difference in our community.
Prizes:
Winning classrooms at each school will enjoy a classroom reward and bragging rights, and a special reward will go to the principal of the winning school.
Let’s bring out the Maryville spirit and make this year’s Penny Wars unforgettable! For questions, reach out to Mandi Wolfe at mandi.wolfe@maryville-schools.org.
